I call myself "The Old Guy Who Crushes AI" because, well, that's exactly what I do!

Before selecting the Website Builder for my blog, I tested several alternatives. You will be entranced by the “Free” offer that almost every app offers. Do not be. (More on this later.) Today, I will cover three apps that I tried and liked. I will also explain why I chose the one I did.

GAMMA.app. I like this app a lot. There is a wide selection of templates, including backgrounds and other visuals. Its real advantage is the AI functions it includes. There is a wide selection of AI visuals that you can choose from by scrolling through the hundreds of available pictures. Once you have created your copy/text, AI will provide the means to review the text and rewrite it according to your chosen style. For example, “Expand with more detail,” “Suggest a professional theme,” and “Split into columns” are three of the options available. Their technical support is very good, but only three individuals are in the department, so response times can vary from immediate up to thirty minutes. Now we come to the “There’s no free lunch” part. I had already registered my domain and retained a host of the site earlier, so imagine my dismay when I had to upgrade to the Premium package ($180/yr) in order to publish my site. Ah, well, the site I created was more than worth it. The app is still in Beta and adds new functionalities almost daily. This is the one I recommend.

SITE123.com- This site offers a variety of templates based on the type of business you have. There are 20 business types to choose from, each having multiple templates. Once you set up your template, adding the site features you feel best represent your business is easy. Their $10/month package offers a free domain and connection to the internet. They have other slightly more expensive packages with many features that are too numerous to include in this review. I suggest that you go to their website to find out more. Their hosting package is very reasonable, if you've already registered your domain. I had a very positive experience with the people in customer service, which made it one of my top choices.

WEEBLY.com- This app has a variety of templates for Business, Portfolios, Personal, Events & Logs, Blogs, and “other”. Each template can be easily modified using a drag-and-drop menu. However, if you want customer pictures, you must upload your own. They offer domain creation and hosting (free if you use one of theirs). Packages range from $10/month for a beginner pack to $35/month for a professional pack. Since it is easy to add content, this is a good choice, but having to upload your own pictures is a definite drawback.
